Q Bridge Opens Early
A traffic shift on I-95 at the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, known as the Q Bridge, finished ahead of schedule.
Crews worked to shift traffic from the old bridge onto the new one from I-95 South. Work began Friday night and it was supposed to finish Monday morning, but crews finished Sunday morning instead.
Travel lanes on I-95 South between Woodward Avenue/Lighthouse Point (Exit 50) and Sargent Drive (Exit 46), the I-91 South connection to I-95 South and the I-95 South on-ramp from Exit 50 reopened a day early.
“We did make some changes to our work plan. We were a little more aggressive to our work plan to be successful in completing almost a day early,” said Brian Mercure with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
